AUBURN VALLEY GOLF CLUB
AUBURN, CALIFORNIA

Since its opening in 1960, Auburn Valley Golf Club has been a favorite of many Sacramento area golfers. The course was originally operated as a private club until 2007 when ownership opened it to the public.

Set in a valley high in the foothills, overlooking the central valley, the course and facilities offer a rural serenity that is unparalleled. A sighting of wild turkeys, pheasants, herons, bass jumping in the many on course lakes, and even a coyote calling from a far away ridge are common place.

The layout has two distinct nines with the front nine relatively flat, and the back nine with a terrain of rolling hills. The course, under Empire Golf’s tutelage, is being restored to the standards of the other properties under its management.


CHERRY ISLAND GOLF COURSE
ELVERTA, CALIFORNIA

Dates of Service: April 1990 to present

Cherry Island Golf Course, located in Elverta, California, opened for play in June 1990 and is owned by the County of Sacramento. The course is an 18-hole par 72, 6,500-yard layout designed by Robert Muir Graves.

The County of Sacramento selected Empire Golf as the concessionaire for the golf shop, driving range, and golf car operations. Over 20 companies and individuals submitted proposals for the new facility. The selection was made on the basis of experience, reputation, and financial stability.

In its first full year of operation, the golf course played more than 74,000 rounds of golf and received rave reviews from its patrons. Additionally, Cherry Island was selected as one of the Top Ten New Public Golf Course Facilities by Golf Digest magazine.

Empire Golf has worked closely with County staff on the development and implementation of many innovative programs for the facility. In 1996 Empire Golf developed the “Time of Day” fee schedule that the County now uses at all of its golf facilities.

Empire Golf has received contract extensions endorsed by Sacramento County staff and approved by the Board of Supervisors. Empire Golf is now in its thirteenth year of operation at Cherry Island.


ANCIL HOFFMAN GOLF COURSE
CARMICHAEL, CALIFORNIA

Ancil Hoffman, a Sacramento landmark, is a high volume municipal golf course located along the banks of the American River in Carmichael, California. A William Bell design, Ancil Hoffman opened for play in 1965.

In 1998, the County of Sacramento awarded Empire Golf the contract for the golf shop, driving range and golf car operations at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course. Under Empire Golf's management, Ancil Hoffman has seen a resurgence in its popularity among Northern California golfers, and also in the quality of goods and services offered there.

Empire Golf has developed the Golf Shop at Ancil Hoffman into one of the most successful “on course” retail operations in Northern California. With retail sales exceeding $700,000 in 2004, sales at Ancil Hoffman have tripled under Empire Golf's management. This represents averages sales of over $10 per round of golf played, or $580 per square foot of shop space annually. Statistically, this ranks Ancil Hoffman's golf shop among the top five percent in retail sales nationally.


OAKMONT GOLF CLUB
SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA

The Oakmont Golf Club is a 36-hole semi-private club located in the heart of the Sonoma County wine country in Santa Rosa, California. This beautiful facility showcases two 18-hole Ted Robinson designed golf courses, a full service restaurant and lounge, and wedding/banquet facilities for groups of up to 300. Two fully equipped golf shops and a double-ended driving range compliment the facility.

The West Course is 6300 yards in length with large undulating greens and a challenging arrangement of trees, creeks and ponds. Par is 72, the rating is 70.8 and the slope is 128.  The East Course is one of Northern California's most challenging executive courses. Par is 63, the rating is 61.2 and the slope is 100.  Both of Oakmont's courses are available to the public for daily and tournament play. 


DARKHORSE GOLF CLUB
AUBURN, CALIFORNIA

Dates of Service: December 2007 to present

Since its opening in 2002, DarkHorse Golf Club in Auburn has raced to the top of the golf world with surprising speed. Award after award has been showered on this course, designed by Keith Foster, on a beautiful natural setting in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California.

Golf Magazine chose DarkHorse as one of its “Top 10 You Can Play in America” courses, and ranked it #7 in California. Golf Digest honored DarkHorse as one of its Best New Affordable Public Courses, as well as giving it a prestigious 4 ½ star rating. The Sacramento Bee voted the club as the “#1 course to play in the Sacramento area” within six months of its opening.

The 18-hole course measures 7,100 yards from the tournament tees, with a slope of 139 and a 75.0 course rating.
